Top Hair and Make-Up Trends for spring

If you're looking for inspiration to update your makeup routine or try a new hairstyle, the latest trends are a great place to start. Spring sees some stunning trends hitting the catwalks, with top designers trying innovative new looks.

Hair
Chloe, Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren and Miu Miu were all rocking the straight hair this season, and Marc Jacobs, Valentino and others took it one step further with slicked back hair pulled back tight from the scalp.
To channel this style, part your hair in the middle and get out your straightening iron. You can also straighten your hair with a blow dryer. Use a paddle brush and section off your hair, making sure to take your time with each section. Whether you're using a hair dryer or iron, don't forget to use heat protectant spray to take care of your locks.
Headbands were also big on the runway this season. Vera Wang and Victoria Beckham were among those who showed off more wearable versions of this trend, with the models decked out in classic black jersey stretch headbands that are inspired by graceful and athletic ballet dancers. Valentino, on the other hand, made a statement with studded leather headbands.
When the days get hotter, having your hair down is often not ideal. A latest trend in hair is a twist, which is a great way to get your hair away from your face and neck, allowing that cool breeze to take the edge off. Tom Ford, Michael Kors and others made the twist casual and wearable with a mussed, 'I just got out of bed looking fabulous' style.
Make-up
The make-up looks that are being used by the best in the biz aren't that hard to re-create. Many of the looks are simple, with either a bold lip or eye to make it pop.
Black eye liner is a classic, and it's back and better than ever this season. Stella McCartney used black liner to create a more sultry look, as did Missoni and Rodarte. If you want a more dramatic look, a la Versace, place the liner on your water line and bring it right into your tear duct. This is a fun way to be a bit rebellious while still totally chic.
What better way to embrace the sunnier days than with a golden glow? Many designers, including Michael Kors, House of Holland and Donna Karan sent plenty of bronzed goddesses down the runway.
Bronzer can completely transform your face. If you're new to this product, pick a soft color that's just a couple of shades darker than your natural skin, and don't go overboard - a small amount can go a long way! A contour brush can help you apply color to your cheekbones, but don't forget to blend this out and up onto your cheeks. Apply a touch of bronzer to your forehead and along your temple to finish off your golden look. Physicians Formula has some great bronzers, as does L'Oreal Paris.
You can create a stunning make-up look perfect for spring with just bronzer, mascara, a touch of gold eyeshadow and bright lipstick. Rag and Bone, Prabal Gurung and Altuzarra all showcased this trend with neutral faces and bright, matte lips. A scarlet, coral and baby pink color scheme is a great place to start.

Whether you're wearing bold lips or dramatic eyeliner, now is your chance to embrace your natural beauty. Take a leaf out of the book of designers such as Alexander Wang, Christopher Kane and Balmain and keep it completely simple. If you're hesitant to step out with your face totally bare, a touch of concealer and tinted Chapstick is all you need.
